AWA members are encouraged to submit announcements and acknowledgements as they relate to their profession.  If you have interesting news to share, please submit it to Website Director for possible publication on this website  or in our newsletter (we have limited space, and are unable to guarantee publication of every submission).

AWA member Mehrnoosh Mojallali will accept an AIA Diversity Recognition Program Award for the AWA exhibit of women's work held last year during a ceremony at the 2009 AIA National Convention in San Francisco.

AWA member, Cara Lee proudly announces that her firm Lee + Mundwiler Architects received the AIA National Honor Award in the 2009 Urban Design category and the 2008 AIACC Merit Award for their project The Central Park of the New Radiant City, Guangming New Town, China.

AWA member, Isabelle Duvivier of Duvivier Architect proudly announces that they
 won second place in a design competition for a Community/Media Center in Nairobi, Kenya.  While unfortunately their project will not be the one built, they are proud to have done so well.   Open Architecture Challenge Winners and Finalists.

AWA member, Annette English is very excited to announce the merger of Annette English Interior Design with Distinctive Design Company, Inc, the company founded and owned by Natalie Addis. The new company will be known as Addis English and Associates

AWA member, Renee Dake Wilson of Dake Wilson Architects announces the publication of one of their projects in ApartmentTherepy.com's LA House Tour: "Glen's Living Large in a Small Space"
.  This project is an example of their mission to provide contemporary and sustainable design, Dake Wilson Architects redesigned the Glen Dake Residence in Silver Lake, CA. The live/work space was completed last year.
